The Future School: Australian Learning Lecture 2020
In our transforming world, how will schools respond to the new challenges?
Valerie Hannon is a radical voice for change, grounded in a deep understanding of how education systems work. In the third Australian Learning Lecture, The Future School, Valerie will explore the challenges the old idea of ‘school’ faces in the context of the disruptive shifts that are underway in our world, and the responses that are emerging.
The Future School will be a provocative and progressive view of learning and education, and a ‘must attend’ event for parents, school leaders and teachers. Drawing on a global horizon scan of innovative schools commissioned by the Australian Learning Lecture, Valerie will present the principles that inform future-focused schools and highlight the diverse forms that the Future School is starting to assume.
Valerie will respond to the question “How can change happen?” by including global examples of how schools and learning are being re-invented. She will explore the roles of leaders, systems, philanthropists, parents and learners in accelerating the shift towards future-ready schools.
